Teachers and Students Write ...

... about school field trips ...

"This is the best field trip I have ever been on."

Caroline Collins, teacher
Bridgeport. Elementary School, Frankfort

"On the Indian Soft Walk I listened to sounds of nature. Most people walk outside and after they hear all the different animals they will still say it's quiet outside. But they are wrong. To me, it's a school of teachers."

Dusty Rose Casey, Capital Day School

"I very much liked the way I was able to talk to you before hand. You knew exactly what our class was studying so you tailor-made this field trip for us. ...We are very lucky to have such a wonderful resource so close and definitely will want to return.  Leeland has so much to offer to such a variety of ages and subject matter."

Christy Chandler, teacher
Good Shepherd School

"It was probably the best science lesson we had all year, ... Thanks for letting me share such a special place with my students.  It was so nice to truly enjoy them outside of the rigidity of school."

Cathy Daniels, teacher
Peaks Mill Elementary School

"I learned to observe so many things, which will make us all feel closer to the earth in a personal way."

, Capital Day School

Students write about school presentations ...

"Thank you for coming to Mrs.Smith's class, I liked the whole thing, especially when you played the drum....Also I liked the pledge, I'm going to try and teach it to my parents."

 David Catlett
Hearn Elementary School, Frankfort

"Something I enjoyed was when you showed us that all those animals needed trees for a home.

Kyle Kratzer, Hearn Elementary School

"I have improved on trees because I went some where yesterday and when I did I saw all kinds of trees and I was thinking about what you said about trees and I care for them."

LaTonya Washington,
Hearn Elementary School

Kids write about summer field trips ...

"Then the most fun thing ever came.  Everyone had been waiting for hours and it came--we got in the creek!  There were a lot of bugs, that was scary and the green stuff looked like little strings of dead snakes!"
"I learned that in the creek there were a lot of bugs, but they are scared of you!"
"I would visit again! But I would come more prepared and I won't be so scared or worry about snakes coming out to get me.  Just have fun and don't worry so much."

Shanece Prear and Shaunte Mapp
The Kings Center, Frankfort
